Throughout this policy, “us,” “our,” and “we” refer to Alta. “You” and “your” refers to anybody using our Sites.
What We Collect
Alta’s online content is free, and you are not required to have an account with us to access this content. If you choose, you may sign up for a subscription to our magazine for exclusive additional content. We collect information directly from you when you subscribe, including your name, address, and email address. We may also collect payment information, such as your credit card number and expiration date, to process payment for your subscription.
Our Sites do not respond to web browser “do not track” signals.
How we use your data
We collect and use your information to provide and manage the services you request, including processing your subscription. We may periodically contact you with offers, surveys, and information about our services, your subscription, legal notices, or other important information. You may opt out of receiving commercial email messages from us by following the instructions contained in those email messages.

Alta is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and we take reasonable security measures to protect your information, including the use of physical, technical, and administrative controls. However, no security system is impenetrable, and no transmission or electronic storage of information is guaranteed to be secure. We therefore urge you to always use caution when transmitting information over the Internet.
The Sites are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information about children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, do not provide personal information to us and do not use our Sites.
We are based on California in the United States. The information you submit to us and that we collect as a result of using our Sites will be transferred to the United States. By using our services, you consent to the collection, international transfer, storage, and processing of your information. If it is illegal to access our Sites or transfer your data to the United States, please do not use our Sites.
Your California Privacy Rights
California’s “Shine The Light” law permits California to annually request and obtain information free of charge about what personal information is disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes.
